About 100 Story Building

100 Story Building is a unique organisation for young writers in Footscray, Melbourne. Their vision is to promote equity in education and life opportunities for children and young people.

They use storytelling as a tool to provide opportunities for children and young people to build the literacy skills, confidence and sense of belonging that are fundamental to future success. They create opportunities for children and young people to expand their imaginations and amplify their voices through innovative creative literacy programs and teacher professional learning.

They focus their impact on 6-18 year olds with a lived experience of socio-educational disadvantage, or who experience other barriers to education. Since 2013, 100 Story Building has worked with more than 45,000 young program participants and 2,000 teachers.
