The Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation is providing funding to support the construction of the 4 Aussie Heroes Foundation’s purpose-built rehabilitation retreat “Camp Courage”. This funding together with the untiring encouragement from the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation Team has been invaluable in allowing the 4 Aussie Heroes Foundation to push ahead with this enormous project.
It seems as though just when we need the encouragement the most, we will have a call from one of the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation Team to check in on us and see how everything is going. It has been an unexpected and amazing bonus for the 4 Aussie Heroes Foundation to have this strong moral support from the Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation.
Our purpose and commitment:
In 2016, and after extensive consultations with health professionals and other organisations working for military veterans, plus the study of relevant and credible research papers and reports, a gap in the rehabilitation process was identified.
To fill the gap there was a real need to focus on two distinct aspects.
It became apparent in early 2017 that the concept of a rural retreat together with the world-best-practice rehabilitation programs being developed by the 4 Aussie Heroes Foundation, would just as effectively suit and assist first responders.
Our short-term goal, which has now been achieved, was to develop and deliver innovative, world’s-best-practice 11-day, live-in rehabilitation Programs.
The medium-term goal is the establishment of “Camp Courage”, a purpose-built rural retreat in South East Queensland, at which our Programs will be delivered to suffering and struggling military and first responder personnel, past and present.
We are always looking for volunteers for Working Bees at Camp Courage and to help out with cooking at the Programs.
Monetary donations are very welcome, and we would be very grateful to receive them!
