“The ISN Foundation’s visionary support is enabling Food Ladder to make a significant strategic advancement — funding the appointment of our first technology position to lead the next phase of our ed-tech platform. This role is pivotal in delivering a highly professional, scalable system that will empower schools across Australia to grow food, embed sustainability, and transform learning outcomes for generations to come.”

Kelly McJannett, CEO & Co-Founder, Food Ladder

“Food Ladder is about dignity, connection, and opportunity. From the rooftop of an inner-city school to the red dirt of remote Australia, this partnership helps us ensure that every child has access to fresh food, hands-on learning, and a brighter future.”

Lucy Payne, Head of External Engagement & Strategy, Food Ladder

Background and Purpose

Food Ladder is an Australian not-for-profit organisation changing the way Australia grows and eats food.

We partner with schools and communities to address food insecurity by equipping them with climate-controlled hydroponic greenhouses, culturally responsive education resources, and the tools to grow their own fresh food year-round.

Our program not only improves access to fresh produce — it fosters a love of healthy eating, improves student engagement and wellbeing, and builds real-world skills in sustainability, horticulture, and enterprise.

With a focus on remote and regional communities, including many First Nations-led schools, Food Ladder empowers the next generation to live well, eat well, and thrive.
