Roundabout Canberra

The Ian & Shirley Norman Foundation has enabled Roundabout Canberra to invest in the development of crucial partnerships that see the recycling, reuse and repurposing of donated goods, reducing the impact on the environment.

Roundabout Canberra

Thanks to the Ian & Shirley Foundation we have been able to rescue countless cots and prams from ending up in landfill through the purchase of spare parts and repairs conducted by our team. This has enabled more families to access safe, essential goods, keeping their children safe and well and allowing them to safely get out and about with their children!

Roundabout Canberra

Background and Purpose

Roundabout Canberra provides families in need in Canberra region with safe, essential items to ensure their safety, wellbeing and dignity, and to support their participation in everyday activities. We accept donations of pre-loved items including cots, prams, car seats, linen, clothing, toys, books and school items. Our 250+ volunteers sort, clean, safety check and pack all donations to ensure the quality and safety of all items. We have a strong focus on sustainability, and we recycle, repurpose and re-home as many donations as possible. We work with more than 140 social services in the local region to provide these items to families in need of support. We support those services by ensuring that essential items in excellent condition are readily available for their clients. In 2023 we supported 4175 children.
